CADA Board meets in Saskatchewan
October 30, 2023
CADA’s Board members and provincial association executives rolled up their sleeves last week as part of the association’s Board meetings in Saskatchewan to take part in a special focus group on how best to address the challenges with regulatory changes at the provincial and federal levels regarding vehicle electrification.
“We want to ensure we don’t get divided and conquered by different levels of government imposing different regulations,” said Huw Williams, CADA’s Director of Public Affairs. “We want to work in tandem and as closely as possible with our provincial association to respond to various EV mandates, charging infrastructure issues, and ensure governments play a bigger role in facilitating EV adoption.”
The Board also tackled other key issues such as fighting the alarming rise in vehicle theft across the country, hearing updates on CADA’s legal and industry relations activities, and member services through various CADA 360 programs.
The Board met in Regina, where it also recognized and thanked local dealer Trevor Boquist for his six years of service on CADA’s Board. “CADA makes an effort to move the Board meeting across the country as a reminder we don’t only represent dealers in one region — but in every community across Canada,” said Williams.
“We’d like to thank Trevor Boquist for his service, for representing Saskatchewan dealers, but also all dealers across Canada. It’s the commitment and contributions of Board members like Trevor that help our association ensure we are fighting for the issues that really matter most to our dealer members.”
The outgoing Chair Charles Saillant also passed the gavel to Jonathan Hickman, who takes over a one-year term as the new CADA Chair.
