CADA to conduct second Workforce Study
September 5, 2023
Talk to any dealer, and they will say that the key to their success all lies with their people.
That’s why the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) is undertaking its second Workforce Study to assess labour market trends and data. This information helps dealers better understand the forces impacting their teams, in areas such as compensation, and turnover and retention.
“Dealerships can expect to receive a questionnaire in December of this year. All the data they submit is anonymous,” said Brigette Goldenshtein, CADA’s Communications Coordinator and the point of contact for any Workforce Study questions. “They will then submit their payroll data in early 2024, and our reports will come out in the spring of 2024.”
The 2022 study generated key findings based on a full analysis for more than 40,000 payroll records submitted by participating dealers. The findings were broken down into four levels of information and comparisons:
- All dealerships nationally;
- Luxury and non-luxury (mass market) dealerships;
- Higher volume and lower volume dealerships based on units sold;
- Urban and rural dealerships.
“We need as many dealerships as possible to take part to be able to make meaningful comparisons of trends in markets across Canada,” said Tim Reuss, CADA’s President and CEO.
The dealerships that do participate in the study get even more valuable data allowing them to see comparisons of their local markets.
