New CADA Workforce Study data helps dealers navigate industry conditions
July 18, 2022
An extensive nationwide Workforce Study undertaken by CADA, in conjunction with the provincial associations, has been completed, and the results are in. Launched earlier in the year and based on anonymously collected information, the survey was open to all dealer members of CADA.
The report includes data on various workforce metrics such as hours of operation and work schedules, the impact of COVID-19 on dealerships, compensation, paid time off and employee benefits. This survey was created alongside, and is based on, similar studies that were previously done by the Ontario, Quebec and BC auto associations.
“The Workforce Study was an important project that we were pleased to undertake on behalf of CADA members,” said Huw Williams, director of public affairs at CADA. “This national survey has offered dealers a trove of information to help them navigate the rest of the post-COVID recovery, and understand the industry as a whole.”
The survey consisted of a streamlined data-collection process that could upload data from the dealership’s payroll system, along with an online survey. Gathered information was segregated by major market areas. Dealers who completed the survey have received access to unique comparison reports between themselves and other dealers in their province.
