CADA presents to Parliamentary Internship Program about Climate Change and EV Transition
June 20, 2022
As part of the Parliamentary Internship Programme program, on June 8, CADA was invited to make a presentation at a webinar entitled, Practical Action on Climate Change: Case Studies from Canada and Beyond. The interactive webinar aimed to explore “practical action to combat climate change, across a range of sectors including agriculture, finance, transportation and more.”
“It was a pleasure to be invited to present at the climate change webinar, hosted by the Parliamentary Internship Program,” said Huw Williams, Director of Public Affairs at CADA.
Through the presentation, the attendees learned about CADA’s work on climate change and the electric vehicle transition.
The Parliamentary Internship Programme offers a non-partisan ten-month internship to ten young professionals each year on Parliament Hill. Parliamentary interns assist MPs on both sides of the aisle, meet with senior policymakers, diplomats, journalists, scholars, politicians, and leaders in civil society, and also take part in academic seminars, write an innovative academic research paper, and share their knowledge of Parliament with young Canadians.
“It was a great opportunity to engage with MP offices and their staff, through this stellar cohort of interns, and to lay out the intricacies of the transition towards 100 per cent electric vehicles to Parliamentarians,” said Williams.
