Duncan Aldred has been Senior Vice President and President of GM North America, since May 2025. He oversees GM’s entire North American operations—leading sales, service, and marketing across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He manages the organization’s diverse automotive and connected-services portfolio, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Buick, OnStar, ACDelco, GM Genuine Parts, and GM Energy.
Prior to his current role, Duncan was the Vice President, Commercial Growth Strategies and Operations, where he focused on improving both the fleet and retail customer experience at every stage of the journey, including purchasing, ownership and aftersales.
From 2014 – 2024, Ducan held the position of Global Vice President of Buick and GMC. Under his leadership, Buick was strategically repositioned as a premium SUV brand, while GMC underwent transformational growth, driven by the critical full-size truck lineup and the rapid expansion of the Denali and AT4 sub-brands.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Duncan began his career at Vauxhall Motors in 1990 as a student intern and eventually went on to hold several senior leadership roles at Vauxhall Motors and Opel, former GM European brands.
Duncan also currently serves as the chair of Alliance for Automotive Innovation, a Washington, D.C. based trade association and lobbying organization.
He holds a bachelor's degree in business from Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom.
