Christian Chia is the CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group, British Columbia’s largest-volume auto retailer. OpenRoad represents over twenty brands across more than thirty locations in Canada and the U.S., and has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for twelve consecutive years.
Before leading OpenRoad, Christian founded Summit Motors China, one of the exclusive distributors for BMW and Toyota automobiles in China, with operations spanning six provinces. His earlier career included roles at Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan and in the finance industry in Toronto.
Christian is an active member of various private and nonprofit boards, including Servco Pacific Inc., the Vancouver Police Foundation, the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, and the UBC Sauder Faculty Advisory Board. His commitment extends to community involvement as a member of the Young Presidents Organization. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Vancouver International Auto Show and was appointed to the Canadian Federal Advisory Committee on Financing. His accomplishments have been widely recognized; he was the 2012 Laureate Award winner of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 for the Pacific region.
Christian holds a Commerce Degree in Finance from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, where he was honored as a Leslie Wong Fellow in 1991.
