To recognize ABSC’s vital contribution to the automotive industry, CADA created a scholarship for students enrolled in the ABSC Bachelor of Business – Automotive Management program through Georgian College.

The CADA Scholarship is in honour of Richard C. Gauthier, who was the President and CEO of the CADA from 1996 to 2016.

Gauthier tirelessly supported the ABSC as a guest speaker and lecturer, and devoted countless hours with the students and staff. He worked with the Board and Georgian College to develop the four-year Automotive Business Degree program, as well as the re-branding of the school from the Canadian Automotive Institute to the ABSC, and in forming the Automotive Dealership Management Program.

Selection Criteria

The Richard C. Gauthier CADA Scholarship will be presented to a student enrolled in the ABSC Bachelor of Business – Automotive Management program. The recipient has had a successful co-op placement in a new car or truck dealership and must be in a position to demonstrate that prior to receiving their scholarship. They have also demonstrated academic merit (70% and above).

Application Process

You must be a registered Georgian Student to apply. Students will be asked to apply using the new online application system for this award here . Applications open December 15 and close February 15. To apply, start by logging in to the application system using your Georgian College student email and password.

The selection will be made by the ABSC Awards Selection Committee.

Award Information

One scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, will be awarded annually.

Presentation Event

The scholarship certificate will be presented at the ABSC Awards Ceremony.

En reconnaissance de la contribution cruciale de l’ÉCAC à l’industrie automobile, la CADA a créé une bourse d’études pour les étudiants inscrits au baccalauréat en administration des affaires en gestion automobile de l’ÉCAC du Georgian College.

La bourse a été créée en l’honneur de Richard C. Gauthier, qui a été président et chef de la direction de la CADA de 1996 à 2016.

M. Gauthier a apporté un soutien indéfectible à l’ÉCAC à titre de conférencier et maître de conférences et a consacré un nombre inestimable d’heures aux étudiants et au personnel. Il a travaillé avec le conseil d’administration et le Georgian College au développement du programme de baccalauréat de quatre ans en commerce automobile, de même qu’au repositionnement de la marque, qui est passée de l’Institut canadien de l’automobile à l’ÉCAC, et à la création du Programme de gestion de concessions d’automobiles.

Critères de sélection

La Bourse d’études Richard C. Gauthier-CADA sera remise à un étudiant inscrit au baccalauréat en administration des affaires en gestion automobile de l’ÉCAC. Le récipiendaire aura fait un stage réussi dans une concession de véhicules neufs, et ce, avant de recevoir la bourse. Il aura également fait ses preuves sur le plan scolaire (moyenne de 70 % ou plus).

Processus d'application

Vous devez être un étudiant inscrit à Georgian College pour postuler. Les étudiants seront invités à postuler en utilisant le nouveau système de candidature en ligne ici . La période de candidature ouvre le 15 décembre et se termine le 15 février. Pour postuler, commencez par vous connecter au système de candidature à l'aide de votre adresse courriel et de votre mot de passe d'étudiant du Georgian College.

Le comité de sélection des bourses de l’ÉCAC déterminera le récipiendaire.
