Vice President, Sales & Marketing
General Motors of Canada Limited

Dear Marc:
With today’s announcement in the United States that General Motors Corporation will be reinstating close to 600 of the dealerships that it previously terminated in 2009, I am writing to request that General Motors of Canada Limited offer reinstatement to the dealers that were offered a Wind Down Agreement in May 2009. Clearly, if your parent corporation in the United States has recognized that reinstatement is not only possible, but the appropriate action than General Motors of Canada Limited must also follow its lead as it has in the past.
We view General Motors Corporation’s announcement as a recognition that it clearly erred in terminating some of the dealers that it did and in light of this it is inconceivable to us that GMCL is immune to similar errors in judgment.
For the benefit of the overall GMCL family and its need to truly look toward a more prosperous future, I urge you to take immediate remedial action; rekindle the trusting relationship that GMCL has historically been known for with all of its dealers; and begin the process of placing all of the current distractions to GMCL’s reinvention behind it.
In this regard, our organization will work with you and our dealer members in a spirit of cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
R. C. (Rick) Gauthier
President & CEO
